Why Nicole Scherzinger’s Golden Buzzer Act Had Her Sobbing On ‘Australia’s Got Talent’

Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger has joined the judging panel of Australia’s Got Talent this season. Scherzinger was the last judge to hit her Golden Buzzer, but she waited for a pretty remarkable act — Aboriginal performer Mitch Tambo.
Mitch’s performance combined his Gamilaraay language with the didgeridoo and traditional dance. He explained that he wanted to appear on the stage to
“show Australia and the world that our culture is alive, it’s well, it’s breathing, and it deserves to be showcased and celebrated in 2019.”
Nicole Scherzinger Hits The Golden Buzzer
Nicole is seen mesmerized by Mitch’s performance. “Honestly, dude, I really don’t know what just happened to me right now,” she told him afterward, tearing up. “You really inspired me. I think you’re a true, true representative of Australia’s beauty and culture and talent.”
The judge further explains why she chose to hit the Golden Buzzer in an Instagram video: “I was just blown away that he took his Aboriginal roots and was able to merge the heritage of where he comes from and what he does, old school meets new school.”
Although she’s not Australian, Scherzinger said she understands how important it is to embrace one’s culture and heritage. Scherzinger is of Hawaiian descent.
Hans On Australia’s Got Talent
Guess who will be joining her soon?
Hans, the campy accordion player who appeared on America’s Got Talent, was announced as a guest judge for an upcoming episode of Australia’s series.
Nicole Scherzinger On The Masked Singer
Don’t worry, Australia hasn’t taken Nicole away from America permanently. The singer will return for the second season of The Masked Singer on FOX. She’ll rejoin Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Robin Thicke on the judging panel, with Nick Cannon returning as host.
The Masked Singer returns with a two-hour premiere on September 25 at 8/7c. Check out a sneak peek of some of this season’s new costumes here.
