There are definitely rumors swirling that she and wife Portia De Rossi are calling it quits after all of this drama unfolded ahead of their 12th wedding anniversary. Here’s what we know about the fate of their marriage.
Is Ellen DeGeneres And Portia De Rossi’s Marriage On Thin Ice?
The couple began dating in 2004 and were married in 2008 as Ellen became one of the most famous faces of the LGBTQ community in Hollywood. The couple have done nothing but gush about each other in past interviews and appearances. But many people seem to think that the pair are going through a rocky time in their relationship that could lead to divorce. However, that doesn’t seem like it’s the case due to the fact that Portia just posted in support of her wife. An Instagram photo that says ” I Stand By Ellen” in the shows signature colors was posted to Portia’s account to make it known that she is still remaining by Ellen’s side.

She captioned the photo “to all of our fans…we see you. Thank you for your support #stopbotattacks.” The use of the word “our” implies that the couple are still very much together after all of this drama, along with several hashtags used to show support for her wife. So for right now, the couple is definitely still going strong as they look to celebrate their anniversary on August 16, even if Ellen’s empire is crumbling down around her.
The Host Reportedly Wants To Leave Her Show After #ReplaceEllen Began Trending
Earlier this week, Ellen sent a memo to her staffers after they had complained that they faced intimidation and racism behind the scenes of the show. “On day one of our show, I told everyone in our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be a place of happiness — no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect,” the memo said. “As we’ve grown exponentially, I’ve not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done. Clearly some didn’t. That will now change and I’m committed to ensuring this does not happen again.” But people felt like she was not taking accountability for what went on behind-the-scenes and instead blaming it all on the producers.

This led to #ReplaceEllen to trend on Twitter with people suggesting other hosts that can fill her position, should she choose to leave The Ellen DeGeneres Show for good. It was reported that The Late Late Show host James Corden would be replacing Ellen on daytime television. “Replacing Ellen was always going to be a tough challenge, but he is a natural fit and easy transition. James would freshen up daytime and with a free hand would be allowed to build a new afternoon era” said an Insider at NBC.
