And The Winner Of ‘The Voice’ Season 15 Is…
Chevel Shepherd is the winner of The Voice season 15! She was Mel’s pic to win and now I guess I owe her a taco dinner at the taqueria of her choice. But the more important thing is that country Tinkerbell is the champion. Let’s take a look back at her journey on The Voice this season.
Chevel started off to many people as just another one of the young girl singers that have become a staple of The Voice. But not to us. We knew there was something special about her. She started off strong The Band Perry’s If I Die Young which killed. Chevel was one of the only females this season that was purely country from the start. And how could you not love her? Not only does she have an incredible voice and a killer performance style, but she is irresistibly cute. One thing that was also true of Chevel is that she kept surprising us week after week by improving on her previous performances. For me, her breakout was Little White Church. The fans went nuts for that song and it was streamed and downloaded thousands of times. Her version of You’re Lookin’ Like Country gave me vibes of Dolly Parton and her rendition of Blue by Patsy Cline sent chills up my spine.
For the final she had to really step it up. Kennedy and Kirk were both the favorites to win. For the final she did It’s a Little Too Late and and an original song called Broken Hearts. This shows that, in spite of being one of the youngest singers in the competition, she can also write a damn catchy tune. When I saw her performance last night I thought, “Wow, she could really win this whole damn thing.” And she did. And now I have to buy Mel tacos. She earned it. Congrats, Chevel!
