After sustaining bone-shattering injuries in a car accident last year, America’s Got Talent winner Neal E. Boyd passed away yesterday due to further health complications including organ failure of the heart, liver, and kidneys, as reported by E! News.
Boyd started his career as a music teacher, but got his big break as a contestant – and eventual champion – of America’s Got Talent, which what he was most known for. However, he did go on to have a pretty decent career after his victory and subsequent run in Las Vegas. In 2009 he released a classical album with Decca Records, titled My American Dream. He then went on to perform at various political events, including those attended by several U.S. presidents. Boyd eventually dipped his own toe into politics, running for a seat in the Missouri House of Representatives in 2012 and 2014.
Last month, Boyd took to Facebook to announce plans of crowdfunding a new EP.
Heartfelt condolences out to Boyd’s loved ones during this difficult time From the Talent Recap team.
