‘America’s Got Talent’ Star & Olympian Shevon Nieto Welcomes Baby Boy
Instagram It’s a boy! Early America’s Got Talent standout Shevon Nieto and her husband Jamie welcomed a baby boy on August 10. The two-time Olympian gushed on Instagram about taking on parenthood in this new chapter of life.
‘America’s Got Talent’ Fan-Favorite Shevon Nieto Is Now A Mom
Shevon posted on Instagram to reveal that baby’s name, Jaysha King Nieto. She also posted two pictures of the baby with Jamie, along with a family photo of the three. It is absolutely a post that will make your heart flutter from happiness. She captioned the photoset: “On August 10, 2020, we welcomed the birth of our baby boy, Jaysha King Nieto. My world has now been made complete with this precious gift from God and the most amazing husband and now father @jamienieto.” Shevon opened up about motherhood when we spoke to her in an exclusive interview just ahead of giving birth. She Opted Out Of This Season Of ‘AGT’
We first met Shevon in the season 15 auditions when she shared her story about triumph. Jamie was involved in a jumping accident leaving him paralyzed and she decided to give up her Olympic career to be there for him. But, one way the couple coped is through music. Shevon wrote songs about her relationship and sang them and lit up the stage when she decided to perform one on America’s Got Talent. Shevon sang a song for the judges called “Through The Good And Bad” that she wrote for Jamie. It was one of the most emotional and heartfelt moments the show had ever seen. The judges raved about her performance and she was sent soaring into the next round.
After her audition, she announced she was pregnant on camera and was very excited. Even Terry Crews was gushing about the happy couple’s baby news. Before giving birth, she shared a video to her Instagram beaming with her huge baby bump.
During the Judge Cuts round of the show, Shevon was not mentioned in the episode leaving us all with a ton of questions. We even predicted she would win the whole competition so her absence came as a surprise. She opted out of this season of ‘AGT’ to protect the health and safety of her baby amid the pandemic. “They wanted to make sure that I was also safe and I was also comfortable. It was bitter-sweet. I really appreciate the opportunity to be on the show” she said. And, we’re so happy she got to show off her incredible talent with the entire world. Traveling to Universal Studios Hollywood while nine months pregnant is definitely not an ideal situation, but we do hope to see Shevon on a future season of the show.
