‘America’s Got Talent’ Once Again Rules Tuesday Night In The Ratings
As comes as no surprise to us at the Talent Recap office, America’s Got Talent once again won Tuesday night’s ratings game. It not only won, it decimated all of the competition. Like, a lot. Of all the shows we cover, both here and in England, AGT is easily the highest rated. With the season only starting, I see it getting even higher as time goes on.
This week AGT had a slight increase over last week with a 2.2 share or 11.27 million viewers. Contrast that with the next highest rated talent show, The Voice, which tops got 8 million or so viewers. World of Dance, which comes after AGT, got a nice lead-in and 6.17 million viewers. I say that because you can clearly see that half of the audience tuned out once AGT was over. Clearly, this show has tapped into the zeitgeist.
I say that I’m not surprised it is doing so well simply because it is one of the most entertaining and surprising shows that’s ever been on TV in my lifetime. People love watching the weird and wonderful acts that come on the show. I predict soon the will hit a 3 share, perhaps when the live shows start.
