American Idol Winner Laine Hardy hopped on a red-eye flight to chat about his season 17 win with Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest.
Shortly after his victory America’s heartthrob paid a visit to Live With Kelly and Ryan in New York City, and hit viewers with a stellar performance. Laine, dressed in a floral blazer with true Elvis swagger performed his original song Flame.
Lifestyles of the rich and the famous are already infiltrating Laine’s life. The raspy toned swooner revealed, “I slept like three hours on the way here.”
Opening up to Kelly and Ryan, Laine expressed his excitement to “get started working on music.” Ryan asks Laine, “Has it sunk in yet?” to which the 18-year-old admits,”I’m still processing it. I could barely sing just now because I’m thinking like, ‘Wow, I’m here right now. It’s crazy.'”
Moments after Laine’s Sunday night victory, Seacrest asks, “How do you feel now that you’ve won American Idol?” Hardy responds, “I don’t know how to feel right now, like I cant feel anything.” Check out the clip below.
In addition to his appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan, Laine sat down with Michael Strahan of Good Morning America.
Reflecting on being crowned as the Idol champ Laine told Strahan, “When Ryan called my name, my mind blacked out and I didn’t know what to do,” Hardy continued, “I just forgot everything. When the rest of the top 10 came out, it helped me out a lot — made me happy.”
So what’s next for the rising superstar? Laine is traveling back home to Louisiana to get in some quality family time. “I’m going to go home, see my mom — I miss my mom,” he revealed on GMA.
