‘American Idol’ Cancels Texas Auditions After Hurricane Harvey
In light of devastating hurricane Harvey’s landfall on the Texas Gulf Coast, American Idol cancelled their auditions in Houston and San Antonio that were supposed to take place this week. But that doesn’t mean that potential Texas contestants need to forget their Idol dreams.
The footage of the destruction of Houston and the surrounding areas have been highly disturbing. It’s my hometown and I have friends that have lost everything. ABC’s new American Idol reboot planned to hold auditions in Houston and San Antonio in the next week that has become impossible in light of the storm. I’m sure there were hundreds if not thousands of people that planned to audition that are bummed out that they won’t get to audition in person in their city.
But not to worry, fellow Texans. You can either go to the Shreveport, LA audition on September 4th or the New Orleans, LA one on September, 14th. If you don’t want to schlep to Louisiana you can submit your audition via the magic of the internet. Here is more on how to enter.
We encourage you to donate to the Red Cross if you can to help the good people of Texas in their recovery.
