The blind auditions round of The Voice ended this week which means that we enter into the battle rounds next week. The teams are set for now and they are certainly looking formidable. Blake Shelton is coming off his win in December with Chloe Kohanski and is being challenged by the previous year’s winner, Alicia Keys.
It was Alicia who blocked Blake from getting country singer Justin Kilgore. She also got singer like Johnny Bliss and Britton Buchanan that Blake wanted on his team. Now Alicia’s team is without a doubt a vocal powerhouse. While most of the attention this season has been on Kelly Clarkson, and Kelly also has a terrific team, Alicia might be the one to take on Blake. She said,
“Somehow I’m always going after (Shelton), but I really like him a lot. I think that’s probably why I go after him. He’s a target. He said one thing I absolutely cannot repeat, and I begged the show never to air that. Ever. I keep him safe as well. You’re able to find and learn about these artists. My team is pretty deadly. It’s just so exciting to have the opportunity to share what I know, to learn what they know, to have the opportunity to help them out with where they are going and how they can get there. It’s intense.”
We’ll have to see what happens when the dust settles after the battle and knockout rounds, but right now I wouldn’t want to mess with Alicia’s team. No way.
