It is not often that an audition leaves the Britain’s Got Talent judges sobbing in their seats. It took one very special little boy and his inspiring story to bring out this emotion. Jade and Christian Kildruff led the Sign With Us choir in a beautiful rendition of “This is Me” from the film The Greatest Showman. Watch the inspiring performance that had Alesha Dixon crying below.
Doctors said Christian would never be able to communicate after his cerebral palsy diagnoses. His sister Jade taught him sign language so that he could talk. She called him a “little miracle.” Jade didn’t want to accept that he couldn’t communicate and knew there was a voice inside that needed to come out.
‘Sign With Us’ Brought Inspiration To ‘Britain’s Got Talent’
Stepping onto the stage, the pair had rainbows painted on their faces which is fitting because they are an absolute bundle of joy. They actually started a class to teach people to communicate through sign language and other mediums. They were joined by the people from this class on stage and they called it Sign With Us. There are 37 kids and 28 adults ranging from four to 58-years-old, which is amazing because this program has clearly impacted people of all ages.
Their performance featured several soloists singing along to one of Simon Cowell’s favorite songs with sign language performed by everyone. About halfway through the performance, more younger kids came out from backstage and stood right in front of the judges to perform. Alesha Dixon was noticeably crying about midway through the performance. She clapped along and was definitely impressed and inspired by the amazing heartfelt choir.
Alesha Dixon Wasn’t The Only One Crying
Sign With Us received a standing ovation from the judges and the audience. The members of the choir were also crying. Amanda Holden shed a few tears and said that the “song is such an anthem for people being a part of the world.” She found the performance to be “moving.” Alesha said she “genuinely can’t find the words.” She called Christian “an absolute little star.” Simon said that they define what the show is about and said it was an audition that he will never ever forget. He was very emotional, just as he was last week when he cried after the audition of Beth Porch.
It is no surprise here that they received the golden buzzer from David Walliams. They were extremely excited and even began rolling in the confetti. They screamed and hugged each other. Alesha even hugged David after such an emotional moment.
Simon Cowell Meets His Friend Ella Chadwick
When Sign With Us took the stage, Simon noticed a familiar face amongst the group. Ella Chadwick won a Pride Of Britain award after battling kidney disease and staying strong to perform and inspire others. Ella has raised thousands of dollars for charities and children’s hospitals that help kids that are going through the same thing as her. She may be little but she is mighty and has a huge heart. She has previously sung for Simon and he even told her that one day he would see her auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent. He was right.
Ella gifted Simon with a picture she drew. She wants him to keep it forever so that he will never forget her. This prompted Simon to say “I will never ever forget you.”
Sign With Us went straight through to the live shows and we can’t wait to see their next performance. Britain’s Got Talent returns next Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
