Season 12 AGT winner Darci Lynne Farmer tweeted her love for a puppet act on NBC comedy competition Bring the Funny. The young ventriloquist got a kick out of Randy Feltface, an Australian puppet comedian who joked about self-checkout lines.
On Wednesday, Darci asked her followers if they’ve been watching Bring the Funny, then added some funny emojis to express how she felt about Randy’s routine. He showed an incredible amount of personality for a puppet, so it’s no wonder Darci was impressed.
Darci Lynne’s Reaction To Randy Feltface
Who Is The Man Behind Randy Feltface?
Randy Feltface is puppeteered and voiced by Heath McIvor. Heath has been interested in puppetry since he was a teenager, and has stage credits that include The Hobbit and Walking With Dinosaurs. He also played Fiend in the Jim Henson Company show Me and My Monsters.
Randy is one half of the musical duo Sammy J and Randy. Sammy J is a human whose real name is Sam McMillan. They even had a sitcom together on Australian television called Sammy J & Randy in Ricketts Lane.
Puppeteers Supporting Each Other
Heath McIvor isn’t a ventriloquist like Darci, since he doesn’t show his face or interact with Randy while performing. However, both he and Darci control puppets during their act, so it’s nice to see Darci showing her support.
Darci Lynne herself received a lot of support from fellow AGT ventriloquist and winner Terry Fator. As Terry told Talent Recap on the red carpet in 2017, he “coached” and “mentored” Darci during her season of AGT. He even helped her write material. “I’ve never seen anybody like her,” Terry said of Darci’s work ethic. “She’s going to go very, very far in the entertainment world.”
Darci recently announced more dates on her current tour, so we’d say she’s doing pretty well for herself.
