‘AGT’ Star Benicio Bryant Drops New Song ‘Poison’ Thanks To — Math?

Jill O'Rourke | Talent Recap

AGT finalist Benicio Bryant may not have won Season 14, but that doesn’t mean he’s done making music. The 15-year-old singer-songwriter debuted a new song called “Poison” on Instagram this week.

It turns out we have math to thank for Benicio’s new track — and plenty of others. Benicio wrote in the caption of the video that he writes most of his songs in math class, including this one.

Fans Love Benicio Bryant’s New Song ‘Poison’

In his Instagram video, Benicio performs the song on the guitar. “I think I need to go away / This poison inside drives me insane,” he sings. “Ever since we met, you kinda knocked me dead / Now I’m full of it / You’re like poison in my head.”

The singer said on Instagram stories that the melody for the track came to his head while he was taking a test, and he asked to go to the bathroom so he could work on it. Here’s hoping the test still went well.

Benicio’s Instagram followers seemed to love the new song. They commented on how “talented” he is, and called him “the next big star.” One fan even wrote that she likes to write songs of her own in math class. Maybe Benicio will inspire other young singers to pursue the AGT stage.

Fans Are Mad That Benicio Bryant Lost ‘AGT’

Benicio lost AGT to singer Kodi Lee, and he didn’t even make it into the Top 5. Many fans were shocked and disappointed by these results, believing Benicio at least deserved a higher place.

However, Benicio isn’t letting the loss get him down. He posted on Instagram that his time on AGT was “absolutely amazing,” thanking his fans for “sending me so much love.”

Before the finale, Benicio wrote on Twitter, “No matter what happens it’s been the best time and I’m so excited for the future.” That future is sure to be bright, and he has plenty of fans backing him up.
