‘AGT’ Sneak Peek: See Why Simon Stops This Young Singer Mid-Song

We can’t get enough of the sneak peeks AGT is releasing ahead of this Tuesday’s new episode of the show. So far, we’ve seen a charming family dog act and a unique act involving rats. But this AGT auditions of Ansley Burns is what got fans talking
‘AGT’ Ansley Burns
The show’s latest sneak peek is more traditional — a young girl with a great voice. Her name is Ansley Burns, and she’s from South Carolina. Her bubbly personality and Southern accent seemed to win over judge Simon Cowell before she even started singing.
Ansley said she used to pretend she was on America’s Got Talent when she was little, and now sings in her school’s chorus. She said appearing on AGT is “literally my dream.”
Ansley chose to sing “Think” by Aretha Franklin for her audition. Although she clearly sounded great, the backing track was a little overpowering. This led Simon Cowell to interrupt the performance and request that Ansley perform the song a cappella instead. The crowd didn’t seem to like it at all as they were remided of the old rude Simon Cowell.

Simon even offered Ansley a sip from his own water cup before she tried again. “Well, that just happened,” she said afterward, apparently starstruck by the gesture. She then launched into an impressive rendition of the song’s chorus without music, as the judges and audience clapped along to support her.
We’ll have to wait until Tuesday’s new episode of America’s Got Talent to find out if Ansley made it through. But based on the standing ovation she received, we think she has a pretty good chance.
