This week on AGT: The Champions, the judges had to stop a danger act before it went any further. They were worried that Ben Blaque could have gotten hurt during a routine involving judge Alesha Dixon.
Danger acts are always nerve-racking to watch, but especially when things don’t seem to be going according to plan. That was the case in Ben’s act, which he already attempted on Britain’s Got Talent.
Ben Blaque performed a crossbow roulette routine when he was on Britain’s Got Talent in 2016. The act involved judge Alesha Dixon pulling levers to release random arrows at Ben. He says that wires got crossed, and two arrows ended up being released at once.
Ben wanted a chance to redeem himself on AGT: The Champions, so he decided to try the routine again, once again with Alesha at the levers. Unfortunately, things didn’t go much better this time around.
First, Alesha pulled a lever and nothing happened. Ben realized he didn’t turn the safety off on the crossbows. He had to walk over and fix it. That’s when Howie Mandel hit his buzzer. Later, the levers were jammed whenever Alesha tried to pull them.
Heidi Klum was the second judge to hit her buzzer on AGT Champions for Ben to stop the act. The judges told Alesha to stop pulling the levers, and Simon Cowell ended up hitting his buzzer.
Because Alesha wasn’t at the desk, she couldn’t hit her buzzer, so Howie did it for her. With four buzzers, Ben was forced to stop his act. He looked disappointed, but the judges made it clear they were concerned for his safety.
“If we hadn’t stopped that, I genuinely believe we would have had our first death on this show,” Simon told him. Alesha told him he’s a “nice guy,” and said, “I’m sorry that it didn’t work out.”
What do you think? Could Ben have gotten hurt? Did the judges make the right decision in stopping his act on AGT: Champions? Let us know in the comments.
