Adam Levine Staying On ‘The Voice’ Thanks To Huge Pay Raise
The twin pillars that hold up The Voice are Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. The two coaches have been on the show since the beginning and it just wouldn’t be the same without their frenemy bromance. But there were dark rumors that Adam was thinking of stepping down to spend more time with his wife Behati Prinsloo and their kids. Luckily, NBC has deep pockets.
Don’t get me wrong, by all accounts Adam loves doing the show. Why not? It’s a fun job and he gets 13 million a season. Who doesn’t like a steady paycheck? But I get that after over a decade he might want to try and do something different. Apparently, NBC made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. We aren’t sure how much they will be paying him now but it must have been considerable to make him reconsider.
With Katy Perry making 25 million on American Idol and now this, it pays to be a talent competition judge. I’m sure Blake takes home a hefty paycheck as well. And Simon Cowell…well…c’mon, he’s Simon Cowell. I can’t fathom that much money. I’d stick around and do just about any show for that amount of money. I’d be on the later seasons of Family Matters or Perfect Strangers for that much cash.
