Today is a very special day for South Korean boyband BTS, recently the group celebrated seven years of being together and creating music that truly has changed the world. Today we celebrate the BTS ARMY as it’s official BTS ARMY day, yes it’s a thing and you better get on board. So let’s take a look back at seven of the most amazing moments of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook’s massive careers.

BTS Did Their First Ever Live Performance In 2013

This was the performance that started it all. Looking back at this perforamnce, it’s amazing to see how much they have grown as a group and how even their fashion has changed. It aired on M Countdown an extremely popular K-pop chart show. 

The group later reacted to their first live performance in a video that now has over 13 million views.

They Won Their First Show With The Song “I Need U” In 2015

BTS’ song “I Need U” from “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1” showed the world a side of them that they had never seen before. Not only did this song received the group their first win SBS MTVโ€™s โ€œThe Show,โ€ which is a big deal in South Korea, but the music video for the song introduced the Army to the Bangtan Universe, which according to Fandom is “a South Korean media franchise and shared fictional universe that is centered on a series of music videos, independently produced by Big Hit Entertainment and based on characters inspired by the members of BTS.” This was such a huge moment that #BTS1stWin was a worldwide number one trend on Twitter.

BTS Made Their American Award Show Debut In 2017

While they had attended the Billboard Music Awards earlier in 2017, it was at the American Music Awards that same year where they got to show American television audiences their tremendous talents. They were the first-ever K-Pop group to perform at this awards show with their hit “DNA” and the audience went wild. BTS’ performance was so popular that the following day they earned a spot in the Guinness World Record for most Twitter engagements for a music group. Surely their epic AMA performance was a huge contributor to that. Not to mention this same year that they won the Top Social Artist award at the BBMA’s. They were the first Korean group to ever attend and win this honor.

“Fake Love” Crushed The Billboard Charts

Their third album “Love Yourself: Tear” gave them their first-ever Number 1 on the Billboard 200. “Fake Love,” the lead single from the album became BTSโ€™ first Top 10 hit. The song also reached number 10 on the Hot 100 and number one on Digital Songs sales chart. This was absolutely a huge moment for the group as the song also saw success in other countries, making their position known as global superstars. They even went on to perform the song at the Billboard Music Awards in another energetic performance. Not to mention the music video for “Fake Love” garnered 35.9 million views within 24 hours of its release. This broke BTS’ previous record for most-viewed K-pop group music video within the first 24 hours.

BTS Made Their First Ever Appearance On ‘SNL’

BTS has not only taken the music industry by storm, but they dominated their first-ever Saturday Night Live appearance. They performed the songs “Mic Drop” and “Boy with Luv.” If you listen to the audience, you can literally hear people crying and cheering at the same time as they were so amazed to be in the presence of some incredible talent. The BTS Army rides hard for the group and is so proud to see them, the first-ever K-Pop group to appear and perform as musical guests on the show.

The Group Had A Massive Collaboration With Halsey

BTS’ song “Boy With Luv” featured American pop singer Halsey in a collaboration that literally broke the internet. At this time in 2019, it became the group’s highest-charting single on the Hot 100. This song currently holds the record for the most music show wins after the 2000s in South Korea. And of course, we have to mention that the music video acquired more than 810 million views on YouTube. It was the most viewed music video after 24 hours of its release. Naturally, it topped the charts and became their highest Top 10 entry after the success of “Fake Love.”

“Map of the Soul: 7” Has Been A Smash Success

Their fourth studio album “Map Of Soul: 7” is a huge milestone. Of course, this album was no different in reaching the top of the charts in several countries. The lead single “On” peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. They also announced the Map of the Soul Tour which was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, however, it will no doubt be full of packed stadiums of adoring fans when it does commence.
