8-Year-Old Warms Hearts On ‘The Voice Kids’ With Adorable ‘Frozen’ Song
During The Voice Kids in Germany earlier this year, 8-year-old Renata melted the coaches’ hearts with her rendition of “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” from the Disney movie Frozen.
The adorable audition turned all four chairs and was clearly a hit with the show’s audience. Check it out in the video below.
Renata Sings ‘Frozen’ On ‘The Voice Kids’
Renata’s sweet voice had the coaches smiling as soon as she started singing. She added plenty of emotion and personality into her performance, prompting the audience to applaud.
It didn’t take long for all of the Voice Kids coaches to hit their buttons and turn around for a chance to have Renata on their team. Coach Lena Meyer-Landrut even stood up and sang along as Renata continued to perform.
Coach Sasha Schmitz had tears in his eyes as Renata finished the song. He ended up running on stage to give her a hug. The other coaches followed behind him, as Lena even picked Renata up in her arms.
The coaches then invited Renata to sit in one of their chairs while they spoke to her about whose team she should join. In the end, Renata chose to go with “girl power” and join Lena’s team.
‘Frozen’ Covers Aren’t Always So Cute
Renata’s performance of “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” on The Voice Kids might be the cutest cover of a Frozen song we’ve ever seen on a talent show. But there have been other, decidedly less cute, renditions of the movie’s songs.
Take, for example, the BGT contestant who auditioned with a death metal cover of “Let It Go,” horrifying judge and Frozen fan Amanda Holden. Check it out in the video above.
“It’s like Satan singing it!” Amanda said of Aaron Marshall’s performance. She later said, “It’s a big, fat, cold, icy, frozen no!” Fingers crossed that a cuter version of the song comes along in future seasons.
