With over 18.3 million Instagram followers and over 8.9 on Twitter, it’s fair to say Sofia Vergara is a popular figure on social media. Compared to Gabrielle who has around 15m on Instagram and 4.3 on Twitter. Vergara has the potential to bring a whole new audience, who we presume will be her most dedicated fans.
2. Sofia brings in a different demographic to the show
Sofia is a proud Latina and doesn’t shy away from embodying her culture. Vergara is bound to attract a whole new audience to the show, that otherwise would have taken no interest in America’s Got Talent. The Latino community has never been targeted before by the show, making Sofia’s debut that bit more historic and exciting.
3. Sofia Vergara vs Simon Cowell is a duo worth tuning in for
Last year’s panel didn’t have much friction. Whilst the panel seemed to get along, America’s Got Talent (one of America’s favorite shows) needs a panel with more personality. Sofia Vergara is bound to keep both Simon and Howie in place in the most hilarious way possible. Sofia doesn’t take any s*** from anyone, and we love that about her!
4. Sofia is one of the highest-paid actresses of all time
You heard it. Sofia is a BIG deal in the industry and is paid accordingly. We imagine the pay check she’ll get from AGT will be similar. Vergara is similar on and off-screen, which has fuelled her popularity amongst viewers, so if you’ve only watched Sofia on a TV show, do not fear, she’s just as feisty in real life!
5 Sofia Vergara is a big name in Hollywood
Vergara has made quite the name for herself throughout her career. She’s now one of the biggest names in Hollywood, attracting eyes whenever she gets started on a new project. We expect her judging role on America’s Got Talent will have people tuning in. Whilst Gabrielle is still a well-known actress, we can’t be definite she’s anywhere near as big as Vergara.

When will America’s Got Talent 2020 air?
We can expect the show to return sometime this summer. Last year saw the show returning late May.
Joining Sofia Vergara this year on AGT are returning judges, Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel. AGT: Champions judge, Heidi Klum will also return to the panel.
