5 Brutal Auditions Where Simon Cowell Went BALLISTIC On Contestants
Almost the entire viewing audience that has watched Cowell over the years has noticed he’s softened a great deal. Just to make it even more obvious, watch these past auditions where Simon Cowell loses his cool with CRAZY contestants!
Andrew Fenlon – American Idol (Season 9)

First up, Andrew Fenlon who auditioned for American Idol Season 9. It’s fair to say Fenlon and Cowell were at each other’s throats before the singer even had a chance to perform. Simon Cowell couldn’t resist his urge to let Andrew know his attitude was not up to scratch after Fenlon mocked the questions of the panel. The TV mogul even threatened to kick Fenlon out the room before he’d even started singing!
Crystal Parizanski – American Idol (Season 5)
Simon Cowell is as concerned with a singer’s looks as a singer’s voice, or at least he used to be. When he met Crystal Parizanski on American Idol, he couldn’t get over her peculiar use of tan and makeup. Cowell was so concerned about the ordeal, he brought in the mother to investigate. We just couldn’t imagine Simon doing an act like this now.
Ian Bernardo – American Idol (Season 6)
Ian Bernado is no stranger to Cowell. The singer first made an appearance on American Idol in Season 6. Ian’s performance turned south however after Cowell turned on the young auditionee. Bernardo was so distressed by Simon’s brutally honest comments, he asked to see Simon’s work visa, claiming he was sure Cowell was in America illegally. Wow.
Tamika Bush – American Idol (Season 1)

Back when the very first season of Idol began, the panel was introduced to the hilariously crude Tamika. Simon recommended that the singer went to an audition where they lied to her and of course, that didn’t go down well with the auditionee. Bush was so distraught by the judges’ comments, she didn’t leave the set before attempting to put the ‘English judge’ in his place.
Rhonetta Johnson – American Idol (Season 5)
Talk about unimpressed, Cowell could hardly listen to Rhonetta Johnson’s audition back on Season 5 of Idol. Simon sat in disarray for the entirety of the performance, claiming she would ‘absolutely never’ make it through to the next round. At least he’s honest!
Let’s hope we see more of this side of Simon Cowell in the upcoming season of America’s Got Talent, debuting May 26th on NBC.
