Before his audition, Dylan shared that he got a karaoke machine when he was 9 years old, and was “so excited” to sing on it. “I love to sing,” he said, “because when I’m stressed and a bit upset, I love to just hop in my room and just sing my lungs out.”

Dylan explained that he suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and cannot walk. He uses a wheelchair, but said he “can still do a lot of everyday activities like everyone else does.”
The young singer said he loves The Voice, because “it’s for everybody’s voice.” He performed “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5 in his blind audition. Unfortunately, none of the coaches turned around for his performance.
The Voice Australia coaches gave Dylan a standing ovation when his performance was over. When he told them about his condition, Delta Goodrem asked what made him want to audition for the show.
