11-Year-Old Self-Taught Dancer Leaves Simon Cowell Speechless On ‘BGT’ [VIDEO]

Aidan Davis, a self-taught dancer auditioned for season three of ‘BGT’ with the dream of performing in the Royal Variety Show. He danced to “Low” by Flo Rida and you would never be able to tell that he never had a formal dance lesson prior to his audition. Simon Cowell became a huge fan of Aidan’s after his awesome audition.
Simon Cowell Was Very Impressed With Aidan Davis’ ‘BGT’ Audition
Aidan came off as a bit timid when he first stepped onto the ‘BGT’ stage. But he let his dancing speak for himself. “When George Sampson won last year I think we all feared that we would get millions of little George Sampson’s trying their luck and it wouldn’t be anywhere as good as him,” Piers Morgan said. “I think you are as good as George.” Solo dancer George was just 14 years old when he won the second season of ‘BGT’ and the judges all saw an obvious parallel.

Amanda Holden said that George set the bar on the show, but Aidan definitely raised it. “I’m not sure I necessarily agree with that” Simon started. “I think you’re better than any dancer I have ever seen on this show over three years,” he said. “I think you are super, super, super talented.” Aidan recieved three “yes’s” from the judges and was sent to the Semi-Finals. He danced to “Rock Your Body” by Justin Timberlake.
Aidan made it to the Final where he once again performed to “Low.” Simon felt that the performance was not his best but did say that Aidan had a bright future ahead of him. This did string up some tears from Aidan who poured his heart and soul into the performance. He finished the competition in fifth place.
Where Is Aidan Now?
After competing on ‘BGT,’ Aidan went on tour with season three winners Diversity. He also went on to become a rapper. He released a music video for a song called “Lets Dance” in 2012. This led to him releasing an EP that he produced himself in 2015. He also appeared on the CBBC panel show The Dog Ate My Homework.
Aidan now goes by the name CharliLui and has turned into a hunk since appearing on ‘BGT.’ Seriously there were so many stories back in 2016 about how much Aidan has grown up after hitting the gym and the recording studio.
He recently took a bit of a hiatus from music and social media but he’s back now. “I’m back b*tches!!! Took a lil break to sort out my health both mentally and physically, no soppy sh*t I’m solid so I’m all good. Bars/Vids/Freestyles/NakedLungeVideos soon land #ReturnOfTheMac” he wrote on Instagram.
Aidan has made his music available right now on all streaming platforms including his latest single “Simmer Down.”
